Anglican Worship
Liturgy that shapes both reverence and participation.
The Anglican tradition values worship that is prayerful, scriptural, and sacramental. At St John's, that means we gather with a sense of reverence while still remaining approachable to newcomers. The structure of the service helps hold the community together, offering familiar responses, meaningful silences, shared prayers, and the regular hearing of God's Word. Resources such as the Book of Common Prayer and related Anglican liturgical forms continue to influence how worship is ordered and understood.
This pattern matters because it forms a people over time. Worship is not simply attendance at an event. It is the repeated practice through which faith is deepened, repentance is renewed, gratitude is expressed, and the people of God are gathered and sent again into daily life.
Sacraments
Holy moments held within the life of the church.
The sacramental life of the church includes Holy Eucharist, Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage, and funerals, each offered with pastoral care and liturgical integrity. Holy Eucharist remains central to our common worship. Baptism marks entry into the Christian life and the church community. Confirmation affirms faith in a more explicit and mature way. Marriage and funerals are approached with seriousness, compassion, and attention to the needs of families.
If you would like to speak with the parish about a baptism, wedding, or funeral, we encourage you to contact the church directly so that practical next steps can be discussed with care.
